A/B-grade vs C-grade (geelvet) — what’s the actual difference?

A/B-grade comes from younger cattle (white fat): clean, classic beefy taste and tender texture — the “standard” most people know. C-grade (geelvet) comes from older cows (yellow fat): deeper, richer, slightly muskier old-school flavour that many connoisseurs chase. If you love fat-marble magic, geelvet will make you smile, boet.

Sliced or whole slab — which should I buy?

Fresh-cut and packed to order. We run small batches (2–3 a week) using a traditional recipe refined over years of trial-and-error in a state-of-the-art facility. No plastic-tainted nonsense, just proper flavour and texture.

Can you vacuum-seal for storage or travel?

Yes — select the vacuum-seal option at checkout for longer storage or flights. Default packing is breathable craft paper to prevent sweating and preserve flavour. We also offer a premium gift-wrap option at checkout.

How fast is delivery and what does it cost?

Express delivery is mahala (free) nationwide. Typical timelines:

  • Gauteng: often same-day or next-day (weekdays)
  • Main metros (Cape Town, Durban, Bloemfontein, Gqeberha): usually 2–3 working days
  • Everywhere else: 2–4 working days (rural routes/load-shedding can add ~1 day)
